‘Lunch for Makayla’ was one of my earlier works, a part of what I called “Project Something to Say”, where I worked with families to bring their own children’s artwork to life. Our daughter left us a wonderfully honest note, with drawing, expressing her school lunch content manifesto. This sculpture now greets us every time we look out into our garden, laughing and waiving in the breeze, reminding us of a beautiful time in our daughters life, and, of course, exactly what she likes for lunch.
"Project Something to Say" is ongoing and I always love working with families to bring their children’s wonderful artwork out into the world.
